Ever since the Pakistani government ordered a lockdown on wedding halls and marquees to curb the spread of COVID-19 we’ve seen a new trend pop up.
Instead of cancelling or delaying weddings, people have moved onto having small weddings instead.
Usually, celebrity weddings are huge and more of a way of showing off their status and money. Although a lot of their arrangements and clothes are sponsored, the way celebrity weddings are done set a standard and make it more likely for regular people to overspend on their weddings too.

Because of the lockdown, various celebrities have gotten married in simple ceremonies instead. Faryal Mehmood and Daniyal Raheel just did the same thing!

The couple had been together for the last two years. With how loud and bright their personalities are you’d think they’d still throw a huge wedding amid the pandemic but they didn’t.

They got married in Daniyal’s family home with only close family around.

Faryals family couldn’t even be present so they had them chime in through video call instead!
The couple is planning on throwing a proper reception party once the lockdowns are over but are still very happy with how their wedding was held.

What do you think about small weddings like this? Do you think that after the pandemic is over we should continue to make small weddings the new norm or stick with the grand weddings we’ve always known and loved? Let us know in the comments below!
