Pakistan’s recently appointed ODI captain, Babar Azam, has made quit a name for himself in international cricket in a short span of time. The right-handed batsman has earned himself big praise from many current and former cricketers.

We all know how glorious looking Babar Azam’s cover drives and back-foot punches are. Now, it turns out New Zealand’s Kane Williamson is also a big fan of his these two batting traits, so much so that he would like to emulate them.
During an interview with Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle on CricBuzz YouTube channel, Kane Williamson said that Azam’s batting is a delight to watch.
“He is a beautiful player to watch, his cover drive and his back-foot punches are just great,” said Williamson.
Williamson termed the hunger for runs of the top notch cricketers including Babar Azam as something that makes them a completely different players from the rest.
“One thing is common in these great players is their temperament, the hunger for runs and how they achieve is all very different but there are a lot of similarities in their approach to an innings,” he added.

Just recently, former Australian cricketer, Tom Moody, had also praised Babar Azam for his stylish batting.
“He [Babar] has emerged over the last year or so into something that is going to be so special. We talked about how Virat Kohli is so good on the eye as a batsman. If you think Virat Kohli is good to watch, have a look at Babar Azam bat. My gosh, he is something special,” said Moody.
