Pakistan is one of those countries which are working hard on introducing electric vehicles in their auto industries. Ever since the current government came into power, they have worked quite a bit on the National Electric Vehicle Policy.
Looking at the government’s seriousness towards the introduction of electric vehicles in the country, Gas and Oil Pakistan Limited(GOPL) has installed EV charging facility at its retail outlets.
It is pertinent to mention that GOPL is the first ever OMC to introduce such a facility.
While talking to media,Ammar Ali Talaat, Chief Strategy and Business Development offer at GOPL, said that they will be installing EV chargers across the motorways and major national highways of the country.
In January this year, Pakistan’s first fully electric three-wheeler vehicles were launched by Sazgar. It was in November last year when the federal cabinet approved the first-ever national Electric Vehicles (EV) policy.
Pakistan is planning to convert 30 per cent of the total number of vehicles into EVs by 2030.
